Some are obvious, such as various chemicals, while others are a bit less easy to get.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transportation.gov\/check-box\/check-box-it-hazmat\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hazmat commodities are<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but are not limited to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flammable essential oils;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alcohols;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lithium-ion batteries (and anything containing them);<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paints;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paint thinners;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perfumes;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fuel;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is just a short list of common hazardous materials, and it is not all-inclusive.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>What do I need to do to get moving?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Easy! (sort of): <\/span><b>all you need in addition to your standard shipping documents is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freightera.com\/freight-shipping-guide\/hazmat-paperwork-for-ground-freight\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a dangerous goods declaration<\/a>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This document needs to contain the <\/span><b>emergency contact number<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in case of any issues with your shipment, the <\/span><b>UN code<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>proper (full) name of the commodity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> being shipped, the <\/span><b>hazmat class,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>packing group<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Luckily, most (if not all) ground carriers will allow you to have all of this information on your BOL, as opposed to a separate document<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This makes everyone\u2019s lives easier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The UN code, name of the commodity, hazmat class, and packing group <\/span><b>need to be listed in the product description and in that exact order. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The emergency contact number should be placed in the special instructions section.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>I have everything ready.
