On <\/span>August\u202f29,\u202f2025<\/b>, <\/span>the USA officially eliminated the much\u2011used de minimis exemption under Section 321<\/span><\/a> of the Tariff Act<\/b>. This policy had long allowed low\u2011value shipments (<\/span>under<\/b> $800 USD<\/b>) to enter the USA without duty or complex customs scrutiny. But as of the end of August, that era is over.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previously, the suspension of de minimis entry had been applied to shipments from China and Hong Kong early in 2025 <\/span>over concerns about narcotics, counterfeit goods, and tariff evasion<\/span><\/a>. <\/span>Now, the policy has been extended to all countries<\/span><\/a>, including Canada and Mexico.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting August 29, we\u2019ll start seeing immediate cost increases on shipments under $800, since they will start facing duty fees.
